Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking an experienced ETL Engineer (Java Spring Batch) for a remote, contract role to support a large-scale modernization project. You will decommission Informatica workflows, design scalable data pipelines, and collaborate across Agile teams to deliver high-quality ETL solutions in a financial services context.

The role requires 6+ years of software engineering with Java/Spring Batch, strong ETL expertise, and experience with CI/CD and AWS services.

Qualifications

6+ years of software engineering experience with Java and Spring Batch.
Extensive experience in enterprise ETL or batch processing.
CI/CD tooling experience (Jenkins, Artifactory).
Cloud experience with AWS (ECS, ECR, EC2).
Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
Experience migrating legacy ETL solutions (Informatica preferred).

Responsibilities

Analyze existing Informatica workflows and ETL processes to understand business logic and data transformations.
Design, develop, and enhance Java Spring Batch applications for enterprise-scale ETL processing.
Translate legacy ETL workflows into modern batch processing solutions.
Develop data transformation, validation, and reconciliation logic for data accuracy.
Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, and application teams on migration requirements.
Troubleshoot batch processing issues and optimize performance for high-volume data.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, testing, and production support.
Create technical documentation for ETL workflows and migration approaches.
