Zusammenfassung

Cognizant Technology Solutions is seeking an ER Medical Coder - E/M, Injections & Infusions to support our healthcare clients remotely. You will review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient surgery, ED, observation, and diagnostic encounters.

You will use encoder applications, query physicians when needed, and perform peer reviews to uphold quality. The role emphasizes coding accuracy (≥98%) and compliance with federal, state, payer, and client

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years of facility-based outpatient coding experience.
• Experience coding Emergency Department encounters, including E/M.
• Experience with injections and infusion coding in outpatient or hospital settings.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and payer regulations related to medical coding and reimbursement.
• Ability to interpret medical records, reports, and chart documentation accurately.
• Strong analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously in a remote setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Review clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient surgery, observation, ED, and outpatient diagnostic encounters.
• Utilize electronic encoder applications to assign codes in accordance with policies and guidelines.
• Communicate with physicians to obtain or clarify diagnoses and procedures through compliant queries.
• Perform peer reviews of coding auditors and coders to support quality and consistency.
• Prepare and complete coding-related reports as requested.
• Maintain a minimum coding accuracy rate of 98% while achieving productivity standards.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, payer, and client-specific coding guidelines and regulations.
• Work effectively in a remote environment while managing multiple systems and priorities.
