Job summary

VytlOne seeks an Epic Data Acquisition Analyst to work remotely in the continental US. You will collaborate with client Epic teams to extract data feeds for the VytlAIQ platform, validate reports, and coordinate with client IT and operations staff. Travel may be required for on-site discovery and testing.

The role requires 3–4 years of Epic experience, strong SQL skills, and knowledge of HL7 v2, FHIR, and SMART on FHIR. Epic certification is preferred, with sponsorship offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related discipline.
• 3–4 years of directly related experience with Epic in health systems, health IT, or vendor capacity.
• Experience building and validating Epic reports/extracts using Clarity, Caboodle, Reporting Workbench, and/or SlicerDicer.
• Working experience with HL7 v2 (ADT, SIU, REF), FHIR R4, and/or SMART on FHIR.
• Experience with file-based data feeds and SFTP; PGP encryption desirable.
• Epic certification preferred; sponsorship available for qualified candidates.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and validation.
• Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall development; knowledge of JIRA and ServiceNow.
• Azure Cloud exposure desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work with client Epic teams and senior analysts to extract assigned data feeds from Epic for the VytlAIQ platform, following the data input matrix.
• Travel to client health system sites to support on-site data acquisition, discovery sessions, and testing.
• Collaborate with customer IT, Epic/informatics, and operations staff on feeds; escalate cross-team coordination when needed.
• Build, configure, and validate Epic reports and extracts using Clarity, Caboodle, Reporting Workbench, and SlicerDicer.
• Support Epic interface work for HL7 v2, FHIR R4, and SMART on FHIR feeds with client interface analysts.
• Document report and interface specifications, field mappings, and extraction steps.
• Configure and test file-based feeds delivered via PGP-encrypted SFTP.
• Validate and reconcile data; resolve discrepancies with clients and senior analysts.
• Track and document changes to specifications and maintain client feed records.
• Participate in requirements gathering and translate needs into extraction specs.
• Ensure data acquisition activity follows HIPAA, BAA, and 340B requirements.
• Provide end-user support and liaison with client/vendor staff for problem resolution.
• Provide status updates and escalate blockers to senior team members.
• Develop process knowledge to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
