Job summary

GEI seeks an On-call Environmental Laboratory Quality Assurance Chemist to perform data validation and quality assurance for environmental data. The role supports the Data Management Team and can be in-person at a GEI office or remote, reporting to the Wakefield, MA office.

The candidate should have a chemistry degree or equivalent experience, be able to work with a national virtual team, and handle multiple projects with strong analytical skills. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or equivalent experience.
• Willing to work overtime as required.
• Ability to collaborate with a virtual team across the U.S.
• Proven ability to analyze and solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform Data Validation using EPA Regions 1, 2, 4, 9 and CT DQA, MA CAM, NJ DKQ and NF Guidelines.
• Demonstrate understanding of analyses including VOCs, SVOCs, pesticides, PCBs, herbicides, dioxins/furans, GS/MS/SIM, air analyses, metals, cyanide, and wet chemistry.
• Assist in developing QAPP for various projects.
• Serve as laboratory liaison on analytical methodology and data usability for reporting.
