Job summary

Leidos LLC is seeking a Senior Environmental Chemist to support federal environmental remediation programs. The role provides senior technical expertise in environmental chemistry, data validation, QA/QC, and data management across site characterization, remediation, and compliance activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field with 10+ years in environmental chemistry, incl. data validation and data management.
• Experience validating analytical data for environmental investigation, remediation, restoration or compliance programs.
• Experience with PFAS analytical data and other emerging contaminants.
• Experience overseeing junior/mid-level chemists performing Stage 2 data validation.
• Strong working knowledge of EPA SW-846 methods, CLP requirements, and environmental analytical chemistry methodologies.
• Ability to evaluate QA/QC results and determine usability of data.
• Attention to detail; able to organize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Self-motivated with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Validate inorganic and organic data packages and perform QA/QC reviews.
• Review Stage 2 data validation performed by junior staff.
• Prepare data validation narratives and QA/QC reports.
• Develop and implement UFP-QAPPs and QA documentation.
• Assist field activities via data systems setup and chain-of-custody review.
• Manage environmental samples and data throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with project teams to meet schedules.
• Provide guidance on analytical chemistry and data interpretation.
• Support environmental investigations, site characterization, remediation, and related activities.
