Job summary

ICF is a global advisory and technology services provider seeking an Environmental Planner to work on multiple NEPA-related projects, collaborating with clients and senior staff to develop high-quality deliverables. The role involves supporting permitting, compliance, and environmental review processes across transportation, energy, and land use projects.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or planning field and 2+ years’ experience, with preferred experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in natural or physical science, urban planning, public policy, economics, environmental management or related subjects
• 2+ years of relevant professional experience
• Experience leading or supporting project management teams
• Experience with NEPA projects for Transportation and Energy projects
• Experience with NEPA and other environmental compliance related to FEMA or HUD projects such as Tier 1 and Tier 2 environmental reviews.
• Ability to conduct site visits in support of environmental reviews.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including ability to prioritize and multi-task under strict deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to succeed with new and challenging tasks.
• Setting challenging, measurable and sustainable goals in collaboration with manager(s).
• Working collaboratively with project teams and clients to achieve established goals
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Develop written materials and analyses for EAs or EISs or categorical exclusions
• Support meetings with clients or other stakeholders (preparing agendas and meeting summaries)
• Support federal, state, and local permitting and compliance for traditional and renewable energy, transmission, land use planning, and other projects in compliance with NEPA and other regulations
• Review NEPA documents prepared by the applicant’s contractor
• Review environmental components of applications
• Support the Project Management team
