Job summary

ICF is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to support NEPA compliance across energy, disaster management environmental services, and transportation projects. This remote-ready role prefers candidates in Florida or the Eastern U.S., with optional office work from Reston, VA.

You will lead NEPA reviews, engage with agencies and clients, and guide EAs and EISs from scoping through documentation. The position emphasizes project management, schedule and budget oversight, and collaboration with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in natural or physical science, urban planning, public policy, economics, environmental management or related subjects.
• 4+ years of relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Serving as a lead reviewer for NEPA projects.
• Interacting with applicants and agency staff.
• Helping agency staff manage the preparation of EAs and EISs (usually prepared by the applicant’s contractor).
• Reviewing NEPA documents prepared by the applicant’s contractor.
• Reviewing environmental components of applications.
• Participating in the Project Management team.
• Acting as PM on EAs or DPM on EISs.
• Developing written materials and analyses for EAs or EISs or categorical exclusions.
• Serving as a liaison to direct technical staff on project teams.
• Coordinating project deliverables with document production staff.
• Developing and monitoring project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Organizing and facilitating meetings (agendas, content, summaries).
• Communicating with clients, stakeholders, and agency staff.
