Job summary

SMASH is seeking an experienced BI Architect to design scalable data architectures for enterprise analytics. You will work on data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ETL pipelines, leveraging SQL, cloud platforms, ADF, and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

The role emphasizes governance, security, and collaboration with Data Engineers, Analysts, and business stakeholders in a remote, LATAM-friendly setup for a US company. This is a one-year contract with LATAM work-permit requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise data warehousing and database architecture.
• Strong SQL proficiency for analytics and data transformation.
• Knowledge of NoSQL technologies and suitable use cases.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms for enterprise storage and management.
• Experience designing dimensional data models (star/snowflake schemas).
• Experience building data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory (ADF) or equivalent tools.
• Experience integrating data across multiple systems and sources.
• Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
• Familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable enterprise data and BI architectures to support reporting and analytics.
• Architect and optimize data warehouses and database solutions.
• Design dimensional models using star and snowflake schemas.
• Define data structures transforming raw data into analytics-ready datasets.
• Oversee data pipelines and ETL workflows for reliable data movement.
• Develop complex SQL queries for integration, analytics, and reporting.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases across enterprise environments.
• Design data integration solutions using tools like ADF.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Support enterprise reporting with Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Use Python or R for data manipulation and automation when appropriate.
• Evaluate architectures for performance, scalability, and governance.
