Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Forward-Deployed AI Architect to embed with client business and engineering leaders, moving AI-native architectures from pilot to production. You will define end-to-end solutions, balancing trade-offs, autonomy vs human oversight, and delivering measurable impact at the client site.

You will design architectures, own artifacts for economic and governance evidence, and help EPAM scale its AI practice by sharing learnings and reference architectures across projects.

Qualifications

• Experience taking AI-native systems to production at a client or customer in roles with architect-level responsibility.
• Proven track record in client- or customer-facing architecture, framing problems for non-technologists, presenting options with costs and risks, and obtaining decisions.

Responsibilities

• Embed with a client account, working with business owners and engineering teams to move AI solutions from pilot to production.
• Design end-to-end AI-native architectures: orchestration, retrieval, integration with systems of record, agent autonomy and guardrails, identity and authorization, evaluation, observability, and cost model.
• Own three artifacts to demonstrate impact: a capability economics model, trust-rung evidence for agent autonomy, and a knowledge-graph slice of the client domain.
• Turn contradictory requirements into explicit business decisions with named owners.
• Decide per component and risk how much can be delegated to AI, including AI coding agents, with humans in the loop where needed.
• Define how each system is evaluated to prove business fit, not just fluent output.
• Build proofs of concept and reference implementations when evidence is needed or examples are required.
• Feed client learnings back into EPAM's AI architecture practice.
