Job summary

Nord Security is seeking an engineering leader to drive Threat Protection work within the NordVPN ecosystem. You will own a development team's output, plan technical and delivery goals, and remove blockers to accelerate secure product delivery.

Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, aligning with business goals, and ensuring code quality through reviews and design input. The role emphasizes ownership, open communication, and continuous improvement in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams (preferably with C/C++)
• Understand the business goals and vision of a product and see how your team contributes to it
• OOP and OOD mindset
• Some Network stack knowledge and low-level programming experience in general
• Sufficient expertise to make technical solutions, contribute to the codebase and perform quality code reviews
• Windows API and Kernel experience is a big plus
• A high sense of responsibility and ownership: you care about the quality of your work and want to get better at it continuously
• Open communication style and transparency
• Positive attitude towards feedback, new ideas, self-improvement, and others

Responsibilities

• Drive one of a team delivering Threat Protection functionality for the NordVPN application and increase our customers’ digital security
• Own the output of a development team
• Plan and follow team’s technical and delivery goals
• Keep the team focused, tracking roadblocks that slow down team delivery, facilitate resolution
• Stay continuously aware of the latest security practices and developments, ensures those practices are followed
• Empower developers to collaborate and resolve blockers before their active hands-on participation
• Ensure that team is timely resolving any issues
• Proactively guides the development of team members by preparing their personal and career development plans
• Proactively connects and collaborates with team members to solve problems and technical debates
