Job summary

Rethink First seeks a Manager, Software Development to lead a software team delivering reliable, scalable solutions. You will coach engineers, ensure delivery against roadmaps, and collaborate with Product, Operations, Security, and Support to align priorities and outcomes.

You will stay technically engaged, foster Agile and AI-DLC practices, and enable a fast-moving, remote-friendly culture for U.S.-based talent.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering or web development experience with 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven SaaS, web, mobile, or cloud software delivery in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong technical foundation in C#/.NET, SQL, APIs, TypeScript/JavaScript, and Azure.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and secure development practices.
• Track record of improving engineering practices and managing technical debt.

Responsibilities

• Lead one software team (front-end, back-end, or full-stack) through planning, execution, and delivery.
• Mentor engineers, set expectations, and drive performance improvements.
• Translate roadmaps into team delivery plans, user stories, and capacity planning.
• Guide design discussions, review code, and reinforce sound engineering practices.
• Improve engineering execution with Agile practices, testing, and quality gates.
• Act as cross-functional partner with Product, Operations, Support, Security, and customers.
