Job summary

EvenUp seeks an Engineering Manager to lead end-to-end software delivery across a distributed backend stack. You will coach a diverse engineering team, drive multi-year product roadmaps, and align technical strategy with enterprise client needs, including data sharing and platform scalability.

You will oversee REST and Bulk API integrations, enforce high security standards, and mentor engineers to deliver secure, scalable services with Django-based backends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise every stage of the software development lifecycle; lead strategic planning, architecture, estimation, coding, QA; establish roadmaps and benchmarks.
• Lead cross-functional technical strategies with product owners, designers, operations, and executive stakeholders for enterprise client requirements.
• Translate business objectives into multi-year product roadmaps; oversee integrations ecosystem and detailed specs.
• Scale Data Sharing engineering function; manage resource allocation and recruitment.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards for code quality, scalability, and security.
• Lead adoption of best practices in distributed systems; ensure high availability and security.
• Direct system design of distributed backend systems using Python and Django to deliver scalable services.
• Oversee database architectures; optimize schemas for high-concurrency API throughput.
• Mentor engineering staff; design systems involving REST and Bulk API protocols for data synchronization.
• Formulate onboarding frameworks and training to enforce security and architecture best practices.
