Job summary

Happy Returns LLC, a UPS Company, is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Platform Team. You will lead a group responsible for shared services, reporting, data workflows, and tooling that support the broader engineering organization.

You will shape the roadmap, mentor engineers, and partner with stakeholders to deliver high-impact platform improvements. This is a remote role, with candidates based anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Platform Team.
• Coach, mentor, and develop engineers with clear feedback and career growth plans.
• Define and maintain the Platform Team’s product vision and roadmap.
• Proactively identify opportunities by understanding pain points, debt, and priorities.
• Translate needs into scoped initiatives with technical leads and engineers.
• Establish ownership, timelines, and milestones for team commitments.
• Maintain OKRs, dashboards, documentation, postmortems, and status updates.
• Promote engineering practices around clean code, testing, observability, and incident response.
