Job summary

isolved is transforming its HCM platform and seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a team of senior and principal engineers. You will remove obstacles, sustain delivery momentum, and mentor growth while collaborating with domain teams and reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering.

The role blends people leadership, program coordination, and hands‑on contribution, with a strong focus on architecture, AI development practices, and modern infrastructure. This is a remote leadership position.

Qualifications

• S5+ years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years in an engineering management role
• Proven experience managing senior and principal-level engineers, coaching and environment‑setting
• Strong program coordination to manage dependencies and multiple workstreams
• Sufficient technical depth to engage in technical discussions and hands‑on work when needed
• Excellent communication to translate complex concepts for engineering teams and leadership
• Experience in a remote, distributed environment with high autonomy

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and retain a high‑performing team of ~10 principal and senior engineers in a remote environment
• Conduct regular 1:1s, provide clear feedback, and drive career progression
• Own team engagement and performance; address burnout risks and team dynamics
• Partner with senior leadership on hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, and team composition
• Maintain visibility into delivery across multiple teams; manage dependencies, risks, blockers
• Coordinate across teams; escalate issues early to minimize program impact
• Ensure alignment to engineering standards and best practices including architecture, AI, Terraform IaC
• Facilitate team rituals and drive operational excellence with tools and support
• Contribute hands‑on via code reviews, guidance, tooling improvements, or targeted implementation
• Stay connected to day‑to‑day engineering work to inform leadership decisions
