Happy Returns, a UPS Company, is seeking a senior software engineering leader to oversee a 6–8 person team, drive agile processes, and recruit top engineers. You will mentor engineers, uphold coding standards, and collaborate with product managers to scale a global returns platform.

This fully remote role supports the company’s mission to make returns delightful for shoppers and retailers while improving efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Senior engineer with at least two years in a leadership role.
• Lead a team as a technical lead for at least one year.
• Six+ years of experience developing and testing web applications.
• Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders to meet business needs.
• Ability to coach engineers in shipping high-quality, maintainable code.
• Interest in a highly collaborative environment with DevOps, QA, and product managers.

Responsibilities

• Constantly improve team productivity and agile processes.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the engineering team (6-8 direct reports).
• Lead recruitment of engineers.
• Train engineers on best practices, standards, culture, and policies.
• Perform performance reviews and career planning for direct reports.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and design reviews to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
