Job summary

Tenna is seeking an Engineering Manager to connect engineering execution with product delivery. You will lead multiple development teams, manage hiring, performance reviews, and staffing, and partner with Product to prioritize work while protecting delivery commitments.

You bring a track record of developing engineers, evaluating estimates, and escalating risks before they become issues. Your leadership will focus on process, standards, and coaching rather than hands-on coding.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with hands-on contributor background.
• 3+ years in an engineering management role with direct delivery responsibility.
• Experience hiring, performance reviews, and compensation decisions.
• Proven ownership of software feature delivery with schedule and scope accountability.
• Ability to evaluate designs, estimate risks, and partner with Tech Leads.

Responsibilities

• Owns full people management lifecycle for direct reports (1:1s, reviews, development, hiring, compensation).
• Manages multiple engineering teams and delivery outcomes across scope.
• Ensures teams meet KPIs and have right staffing to deliver on commitments.
• Develops Tech Leads in design ownership, mentorship, and delivery accountability.
• Owns active project management for feature development from scoping with Product to schedules and resources.
• Coordinates with Product Managers to align deadlines and priorities; surfaces risks early.
• Holds Tech Leads accountable for delivery and design completion; validates estimates.
• Maintains burn charts accuracy and ensures deployment plans exist for releases.
• Identifies risks and works with Leads on mitigation strategies.
• Partners with Product Management to define features and tradeoffs; implements improvements.
• Drives process improvements to increase efficiency, predictability, and quality.
