Job summary

Thrivent is seeking an accomplished IT leader to provide strategic direction across multiple departments. You will influence budgets, schedules, and metrics in alignment with organizational objectives, collaborating with senior partners on projects and contracts.

You will drive design reviews, DevOps practices, and talent development while empowering teams to deliver high-impact IT solutions that support Thrivent's mission and product initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible positions in IT including 5+ years’ experience in IT discipline, e.g., portfolio strategy and roadmap development.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in all aspects of a specific IT discipline.
• 3+ years’ management/supervisory experience in IT functional area.
• Demonstrated leadership and experience managing multidiscipline, high-performance work teams.
• Strong competency in project management and execution of multiple or large projects.
• Experience working with customers to develop solutions to complex business problems.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction to one or more IT departments.
• Develop budgets, schedules, and department objectives.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders on projects and contracts.
• Lead engineering standards and DevOps practices.
• Partner with Product Manager on initiatives and roadmaps.
• Align team priorities with technology strategy and company goals.
• Foster psychological safety and a collaborative team environment.
• Coach engineers and participate in talent development and recruitment.
