Job summary

Thrivent is seeking a senior IT leader to provide strategic direction, oversee architecture and design, and drive product/platform technology strategies. You will collaborate with Product Managers, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and advance engineering standards while ensuring alignment with Thrivent’s objectives and client-focused outcomes.

You will coach engineers, manage vendors, and recruit talent, delivering high-impact solutions in a dynamic financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical field or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years in Information Technology including 5+ years in IT discipline (e.g., CRM, portfolio strategy/roadmap).
• 3+ years of leadership experience in an IT discipline.
• 3+ years’ management/supervisory experience in IT functional areas.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplined, high-performance teams.
• Strong project management experience and execution.
• Experience working with customers to develop solutions to complex problems.
• Excellent communication with internal/external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction to IT departments and align with organizational objectives.
• Review designs and architecture; guide solution delivery and best practices.
• Lead DevOps and production issue resolution; promote observability and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product Manager on roadmaps, goals, and outcomes.
• Define engineering standards and enterprise patterns; drive continuous improvement.
• Coach and develop engineers; recruit and build high-performing teams.
• Partner across teams to broker solutions and ensure product integration.
