D24 Search Limited is partnering with a Series C Fintech to hire an Engineering Manager who will own a pod of 6–8 engineers building an AI-native Loan Origination System for mortgage lenders. You’ll be a hands-on leader who codes 10–20% and guides delivery in a high-stakes, fast-growing environment.

This remote-first US/Canada-friendly team offers strong benefits and a compensation range of $250K–$325K base.

Qualifications

Managed 5+ engineers with people management experience (hiring, firing, PIPs, reviews).
Hands-on TypeScript experience; able to pass live TS coding interview.
AI-forward mindset; experience using AI tools in engineering workflows.
Startup or small-company experience preferred.
Experience as a middle manager for a pod of 5+ direct reports (hiring, firing, performance management).
Experience shipping production software and actively coding in a current/recent manager role.
Progressive career path from software engineer to staff engineer to management.

Responsibilities

Manage a pod of ~6–8 engineers — 1:1s, feedback, hiring/firing, PIPs, career growth.
Own pod execution cadence: planning, retros, delivery health, surface risks early.
Code ~10–20% of your time; ship 1–2 PRs per week.
Partner with Product Managers and Technical Leads on prioritization, architecture decisions, cross-functional alignment.
Onboard new engineers and maintain documentation and ownership boundaries.
