Job summary

PayMitto is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a product team responsible for the PayMitto Core API and front-end experiences. You will be a visible internal leader driving performance, outcomes, and operational excellence.

This is a hands-on keyboard role with a 50% / 50% split, spending half time writing and reviewing code and half on people, priorities, and process. We are an AI-native team and will expect fluency with coding agents to set best practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with hands-on coding and architecture.
• 2+ years managing distributed software teams.
• Strong backend experience with C#/.NET and production APIs.
• Solid React/Next.js experience with TS and server-side work.
• Postgres schema design and migrations on live data.
• Experience with agentic development workflows and AI tools.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on coding.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on coding across the stack 50% of time.
• Lead a team of 4–6 engineers delivering full-stack features.
• Set architectural direction and review code for quality.
• Improve engineering processes, tools, and architecture.
