Job summary

Mitratech is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to lead across multiple services, writing production Python code and defining AI platform patterns, including agent orchestration, tooling, and governance. The role combines advisory leadership with hands-on delivery across the AI stack, and you will mentor engineers while improving reliability and CI/CD practices.

Remote work within the United States is supported, with total compensation including strong US-based benefits and annual bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Principal-level, hands-on leader who sets direction across teams while writing production code.
• Deep expertise in Python and the modern AI stack.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Proficient in GenAI/LLM techniques, embeddings, prompting, and guardrails.
• Familiarity with agent tooling and integration protocols such as MCP.
• Strong data persistence experience across relational, key‑value, document, and warehouse stores.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction across multiple services and teams with broad autonomy.
• Define AI platform patterns and governance surfaces for the engineering org.
• Own reliability, testing, CI/CD, and operational standards across teams.
• Provide technical leadership and help shape staffing and roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across teams.
• Write production Python code and stay hands-on in the AI stack.
