Job summary

Ad Hoc is seeking an Engineering Lead for the Federal Civilian space, delivering critical software programs for government partners. You will shape technical direction while guiding one or two teams, mentoring engineers, and coordinating with leadership to meet delivery goals.

You will mentor engineers, manage performance, and participate in hiring while translating complex technical decisions for federal stakeholders.

Qualifications

9+ years of engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
2+ years mentoring and coaching experience; ability to lead delivery
Must meet federal suitability requirements and pass a background investigation
Strong written and verbal communication; translate technical decisions for federal stakeholders
Experience with software development and customer interactions

Responsibilities

Develops understanding of program scope, schedule and cost with leadership guidance.
Provides coaching and development to engineering team members; defines growth goals.
Mentors engineers in technical direction and career management.
Leads team processes and adopts best practices to fill gaps.
Represents engineering in discussions with stakeholders to propose best technical solutions.
Develops written communication and presentation skills to describe systems and decisions.
May participate in bid-writing, demos, planning, and client communications.
Presents program engineering work, goals, and risks to stakeholders.
Interviews candidates and participates in hiring decisions.
