Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager – Energy to support siting and permitting of utility-scale energy projects across California, aligned with the Irvine office.

Remote-based within California with affiliation to the Irvine office, the role emphasizes leading multi-disciplinary teams, CEQA/NEPA/documentation, and client-focused project delivery in a dynamic consulting environment. Travel up to 25% is expected, with strict health and safety protocols in place.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• 8–15+ years of experience in environmental permitting and energy project development.
• Experience with CEQA (EIRs/MNDs), NEPA, and CEC/CPUC applications.
• Familiarity with GIS and siting-related software.
• Strong technical writing, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead siting, routing, and environmental permitting projects as Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Lead preparation of land use and resource permit applications for federal, state, and local agencies.
• Support project development activities, including technical analysis and permitting strategy.
• Mentor and support junior project managers and planners.
