Job summary

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is seeking an Employee Accommodations Manager to adjudicate accommodation requests and lead the interactive process in alignment with ADA/ADAAA and applicable laws. You will collaborate with HR, Legal, and Leadership to implement effective solutions and risk mitigation.

The role requires 3–5+ years in accommodations or disability services, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and experience developing policies and delivering training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Psychology, Social Sciences, Disability Studies, Special Education, or related field.
• 3–5+ years managing employee accommodations or disability services.
• Certifications: None required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and independently adjudicate accommodation requests, including complex and high-risk cases, in accordance with ADA/ADAAA, Section 504, and applicable laws.
• Lead the interactive accommodation process, partnering with employees, managers, HR, and Legal to identify reasonable and effective solutions.
• Review and interpret medical documentation and functional limitations; determine accommodation feasibility, approvals, denials, or alternatives.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accommodation policies, procedures, templates, and documentation standards.
• Serve as the primary consultant and advisor to leadership and HR on accommodation-related matters, risk mitigation, and compliance strategy.
• Deliver training and guidance to supervisors and departments on legal obligations and best practices.
