Job summary

CCMSI is seeking a California Workers’ Compensation Claim Supervisor in Concord, CA. The role leads a team of WC claims professionals across client accounts, ensuring claim quality, service delivery, and compliance, with occasional travel as needed.

The supervisor serves as a technical resource, mentor, and client partner, promoting CCMSI’s standards and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Remote reporting is possible for this position.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Workers’ Compensation claims handling experience.
• 3+ years supervisory or people-lead experience.
• Active Workers’ Compensation adjuster license in California.
• Effective communication skills with clients, adjusters and internal partners.
• Working knowledge of entry- and mid-level WC adjusting roles and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Review, assign and supervise all claim activity for designated claims to ensure compliance with standards and laws.
• Investigate, evaluate and adjust assigned claims in accordance with standards and laws.
• Establish and oversee reserves for designated claims within authority levels.
• Oversee medical, legal, damage estimates and invoices; negotiate disputed bills.
• Authorize and pay claims per procedures within authority levels.
• Negotiate settlements in line with standards and client instructions and state laws.
• Assist in selecting and supervising outside vendors for designated files.
• Direct handling of litigated and complex claims.
• Provide education and training to claim staff.
• Maintain diary and supervision for accounts.
