Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, through PennDOT, is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor to lead construction reviews and verify project records. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, and support project teams with data and documentation.

Responsibilities include assigning work, auditing records, reviewing work orders, and coordinating with engineers using ECMS.

Qualifications

• One year as Transportation Construction Inspector or two years of construction inspection with an associate’s degree in civil/engineering technology or related field.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable.
• Valid PA Class C Driver’s License or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspectors/technicians and review tasks for accuracy.
• Maintain documentation, audit records, and ensure retention compliance.
• Evaluate work orders for cost justification, accuracy, and guidelines.
• Audit project records, estimates and quantities for correctness.
• Provide data and cost information to engineers and managers for project decisions.
• Use ECMS and other systems to process and review construction information.
