Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor for the PennDOT District 5-0 region (Lehigh, Berks, Carbon, Monroe, Schuylkill). The role involves supervising inspection teams, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety codes on highway, bridge, and related projects.

Qualified candidates will have 4+ years in transportation construction inspection, a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant certifications (NICET 2+, NECEPT

Qualifications

• Requires PennDOT TCI Supervisor Level I criteria.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of Transportation, Highway or Bridge Construction Inspection Experience.
• NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation Highway Construction.
• NECEPT- Bituminous Field Technician.
• PennDOT Concrete Field Technician (ACI Concrete Field Technician is prerequisite)

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standards.
• Oversee, schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all project phases.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
• Draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issues on behalf of the Client.
• Witness routine sampling and tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
• Gather and maintain project records (using PennDOT ECMS and other systems).
• Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries.
