Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, through PennDOT, seeks a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor to oversee staff, review records, and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements for major transportation projects.

You will supervise inspectors, manage documentation, audit costs, and provide data to support project decisions. Telework may be available part-time, with standard hours and a Uniontown headquarters option.

Qualifications

• One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title).
• Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspectors and technicians and review completed tasks for accuracy.
• Maintain documentation, audit records, and ensure retention policies are followed.
• Evaluate work orders for cost justification, accuracy, and guideline compliance.
• Audit project records, estimates, and quantities to ensure correct procedures.
• Provide data and cost information to engineers and managers for project decisions.
• Use ECMS and other systems to process, track, and review construction information.
