Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a Senior Mainframe Automation SME to lead automation initiatives in the enterprise Mainframe environment. You will design, implement, and optimize automation using OPS/MVS, SA z/OS, and GDPS, enhancing resiliency and supporting modernization efforts across platforms.

The role requires strong z/OS core knowledge, REXX scripting, and a track record in high-availability production environments, with after-hours support during critical change windows when needed.

Qualifications

7+ years of combined higher education and/or related work experience.
Extensive hands-on enterprise automation experience required.
Strong knowledge of Broadcom OPS/MVS and IBM System Automation (SA z/OS).

Responsibilities

Lead design, implementation, and optimization of Mainframe automation using OPS/MVS and System Automation.
Develop and maintain IPL automation for startup/shutdown with stability and minimal manual intervention.
Support and improve Disaster Recovery processes including GDPS workflows and recovery automation.
