Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a Senior Mainframe Automation SME to lead enterprise automation across the Mainframe environment. You will apply expertise in Broadcom OPS/MVS, IBM SA z/OS, and GDPS to enhance automation maturity, resiliency, and modernization efforts.

Responsibilities include designing and optimizing automation, developing IPL startup/shutdown automation, and partnering with cross-functional teams to meet operational goals.

Qualifications

• Combination of ≥7 years education and/or related work experience.
• Hands-on enterprise automation expertise required.
• Experience with OPS/MVS and System Automation policy/configuration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and optimization of Mainframe automation.
• Develop and maintain IPL automation for startup/shutdown stability.
• Assist DR processes with GDPS workflows and recovery automation.
• Collaborate with z/OS, Middleware, Application, Scheduling and Infra teams.
• Drive phased IPL automation during maintenance windows.
• Troubleshoot complex automation issues across environments.
• Create runbooks and documentation; mentor junior engineers.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and backlog refinement.
