We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to assess Government and Conventional loans (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac), analyze borrower income/assets/credit, and ensure loans meet investor guidelines. The role reports to the Underwriting Manager and collaborates across sales, processing, closing, and compliance

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• Current VA SAR Designation.
• Excellent knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC guidelines.
• Deep knowledge of TRID, TILA, ECOA and HMDA.
• Able to navigate loan origination software and related tech.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Government and Conventional loans (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac).
• Ensure loans are salable and conform to investor guidelines.
• Analyze borrower income, assets and credit/liabilities documentation.
• Keep up with investor and insurer guidelines/programs.
• Collaborate with sales, processing, underwriting, closing, and compliance teams.
• Monitor KPIs and KRIs and report variances to leadership.
