Qualifications

• 2+ years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• Current VA SAR designation.
• Excellent knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC guidelines.
• Knowledge of TRID, TILA, ECOA and HMDA.
• Able to navigate loan origination software (e.g., Encompass).
• Strong communication and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Government and Conventional (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) loans.
• Ensure loans are salable and meet investor/insurer guidelines.
• Keep up-to-date with investor programs and guidelines.
• Analyze borrower income, assets, and credit/liabilities.
• Ensure timely closings by managing the pipeline.
• Collaborate with sales, processing, underwriting, closing, secondary, and compliance teams.
