Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Utility Relocation Technician for the Department of Transportation to support roadway projects statewide. You will coordinate utility activities, review plans, and provide on-site field support to keep projects on track.

The role offers full-time hours with potential telework up to 3 days per week and a starting salary of $46,827. Residency requirements apply, and Veterans' preferences are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year as an Engineering Technician performing utility relocation work or equivalent.
• One year of technical relocation work with an associate’s degree in surveying, civil engineering, or drafting technology.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training including one year of utility relocation work.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to utilities and designers on relocation requirements.
• Maintain contact with utility companies to track progress and milestones.
• Examine relocation plans for compliance with standards and manuals.
• Visit project sites for on-site coordination and field support.
• Assess cost estimates, agreements, property interests, and supporting materials.
• Collaborate with project staff to resolve constructability issues, timelines, and conflicts.
