DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides technical support on utility relocation activities for a wide range of transportation projects. As a Utility Relocation Technician, you will perform the following duties:

• Technical Guidance: Provide direction to utilities and designers on project requirements and relocation needs
• Utility Coordination: Maintain contact with utility companies to track relocation progress and meet milestones
• Plan Review: Examine relocation plans to ensure compliance with standards and manuals
• Field Support: Visit project sites to conduct views and assist with on-site coordination
• Documentation Review: Assess cost estimates, agreements, property interests, and supporting materials
• Issue Resolution: Work with project staff to address constructability concerns, timelines, and conflicts

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Clearfield. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
• Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,827 (before taxes)

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

• One year as an Engineering Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) performing utility relocation work; or
• One year of technical utility relocation work experience and an associate’s degree in surveying, civil engineering, or in a design and drafting technology; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of technical experience performing utility relocation work.
