Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Environmental Group Manager in the Northeast Regional Office, Waterways and Wetlands. This role leads a team of engineers, reviews permit applications, and guides critical regulatory work to protect waterways and wetlands.

You will oversee staff, coordinate enforcement and emergency reviews, and ensure accurate permitting decisions, with telework options and travel to multiple PA offices. This position requires PE licensure and a PA residency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation.
• Five years of professional environmental protection experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Permitting Section by managing engineering staff, reviewing technical work, and ensuring proper interpretation of environmental regulations.
• Supervise permitting activities for stormwater and encroachment programs and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Lead staff through training, meetings, and full supervision responsibilities.
• Coordinate with regulators and interagency groups; prepare monthly activity updates and maintain organized procedures.
