Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) – Long Island Rail Road in New York, NY is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support design, construction, and commissioning activities in the Special Projects/ESA Department. This role provides direct support to Project Managers and Directors, coordinating 3rd party contractors and ensuring schedules and budgets are met.

Responsibilities include preparing reports, tracking progress, reviewing invoices and proposals, and maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Prior construction/engineering/manufacturing/project management experience.
• Strong scheduling and estimating knowledge for construction trades.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist PM and Senior PM in managing work of consultants, contractors, and developers to meet schedule and budget criteria.
• Coordinate activities of various railroad departments and outside stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and inspections.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and studies; manage schedules, estimates, and project controls; review invoices and change proposals.
