Job summary

DOC SERVICES is seeking Electromechanical Field Service Technicians to perform preventive and reactive maintenance on equipment in big box retail stores. Techs work from home and travel to customer sites, servicing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems while meeting safety requirements.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of repair experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years of equipment repair experience or a combination of training and experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge; ability to read schematics.
• Proficient with computer applications including Microsoft Office and call management software.
• Know and understand safety regulations related to equipment repair.
• Strong organization skills; self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record and proof of insurance.
• Satisfactory background check is required.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, and a positive attitude.
• Written, verbal and electronic communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform billable maintenance, troubleshooting and servicing of equipment.
• Abide by OSHA and DOC safety regulations, including PPE requirements.
• Respond to service calls within customer and DOC requirements.
• Provide all documentation via handheld device.
• Perform cost-effective service and repairs while maintaining quality.
• Seek technical support on-site promptly to avoid delays.
• Be reachable by phone for reactive service repairs unless otherwise approved.
• Order correct parts and maintain organized inventory for quick access.
• Arrive on time with tools, instructions, parts and safety gear.
• Travel to and from customer locations as required.
• Evaluate preventable service problems and advise customers as directed.
