Job summary

DOC SERVICES seeks Electromechanical Field Service Technicians to perform preventive and reactive maintenance on electromechanical equipment in big box retail stores. You will work from home base and respond to service calls, with travel to customer sites as needed.

Strong electrical/mechanical knowledge and schematics reading are essential, along with a valid driver’s license and background check clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years of equipment repair experience or combination of training and experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge; ability to read and understand schematics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and call management software.
• Familiarity with safety regulations related to equipment repair.
• Strong organization skills; self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record with proof of insurance.
• Satisfactory background check required.
• Maintain professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform billable work by maintaining, troubleshooting and servicing equipment.
• Abide by OSHA, customer and DOC safety regulations including PPE requirements.
• Respond to all service calls within customer expectations and DOC requirements.
• Provide documentation as required by customer and DOC through handheld device.
• Perform cost effective service and repairs while maintaining quality.
• Seek technical support on site timely to avoid delays.
• Be reachable via phone for reactive service repairs as needed.
• Order the correct parts for repairs.
• Maintain inventory and organize for quick parts lookup.
• Arrive on time prepared with tools, instructions, parts and safety equipment.
• Travel to and from customer locations.
• Perform inventory reconciliation.
• Return parts as requested promptly.
• Evaluate preventable service problems and educate or make recommendations to customer.
• Other duties as needed.
