Job summary

Kimmel & Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to prepare detailed construction cost estimates from concept through final design. The role focuses on accurate, comprehensive projections to guide budgeting and procurement decisions.

Currently remote day-to-day, onboarding happens at the Parkton, Maryland office with periodic in-person meetings. Ideal candidates reside within driving distance of Parkton or are willing to relocate; some travel for training and site visits

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of electrical estimating experience in M/E/P, infra, or industrial construction.
• Solid understanding of electrical systems, drawings, specs, and estimating methods.
• Experience estimating across multiple design phases.
• Proficiency with Excel and estimating software; training on proprietary platform.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
• Located within commuting distance of Parkton, MD, or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical construction cost estimates from concept through final design.
• Review drawings and specs to develop quantity takeoffs and pricing.
• Evaluate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to clarify scope and cost impacts.
• Support budgeting, value engineering, and cost planning.
• Maintain estimating docs and improve estimating practices.
