Job summary

Kimmel Associates is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its team. This role focuses on developing detailed cost projections to support budgeting, planning, and procurement across design stages.

The position is remote day-to-day, with onboarding at the Parkton, Maryland office and periodic in-person meetings. Candidates should reside within commutable distance or be willing to relocate to Parkton.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of electrical estimating experience, preferably within M/E/P, infrastructure, or industrial construction.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction drawings, specifications, and estimating methodologies.
• Experience preparing estimates across multiple design phases.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software; training on proprietary platform.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a track record of remote work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate electrical construction cost estimates from conceptual design through final construction documents.
• Review drawings, specifications, and docs to develop detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing.
• Evaluate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and installation costs.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to clarify scope and cost impacts.
• Support budgeting, value engineering, and cost planning throughout project development.
• Maintain estimating documentation and improve practices.
