Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead for renewable energy projects, focusing on utility-scale solar and battery energy storage. The role involves leading engineering teams, coordinating EPC activities, and interfacing with developers, lenders, and investors across the United States.

The position emphasizes integrating modern tools and AI-driven workflows to improve design efficiency while ensuring compliance with IFC design standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects as part of EPC team or Owner’s Engineer.
• Evidence of at least one utility-scale project direct engineering experience during IFC design.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Solid interpersonal skills and ability to guide others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare solar and battery energy storage EPC RFP packages and associated technical specifications.
• Evaluate EPC proposals to assist selection of preferred EPC contractors.
• Provide technical support during negotiations of EPC contracts.
• Prepare or review specifications for equipment such as main power transformer, BESS/PV collection system components.
• Review EPC contractor’s electrical design drawings and supporting calculations.
