Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an Electrical Engineering Lead for renewable energy projects, focusing on solar and battery energy storage. You will lead engineering design and technical reviews within a fast-paced consulting group serving utilities, developers, lenders, and IPPs across the U.S.

The role requires 8+ years in utility-scale solar/BESS design, strong communication, and leadership capabilities, with in-office collaboration in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects as part of EPC team or Owner’s Engineer.
• Evidence of at least one utility scale project direct engineering experience during development of IFC design.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare solar and battery energy storage EPC RFP packages and technical specifications.
• Evaluate EPC proposals to assist selection of preferred EPC contractors.
• Provide technical support during negotiations of EPC contracts.
• Prepare or review specifications for key equipment such as main power transformer and BESS/PV collection system components.
• Review EPC contractor drawings and supporting calculations.
• Review renewable LVDC/AC systems, collector substation, interconnecting substation expansion, and gen-tie transmission.
