Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to lead design, analysis, and advisory for solar and energy storage projects across North America and the Caribbean. The role emphasizes compliance with NEC/IEEE standards, project execution, and client collaboration.

You will mentor a team, perform energy production simulations, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. A NY or reciprocal PE license is required and travel to project sites is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in power systems engineering with solar and battery storage experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in New York or a state with reciprocity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and power system analysis tools (ETAP, SKM, PSCAD).
• Working knowledge of NEC and standards such as IEEE 1547, CSA 22.2 No. 107.1, UL 1741, and NFPA 855.

Responsibilities

• Oversee solar PV and battery storage system design from rooftop to utility-scale.
• Mentor engineers; uphold drawing standards and quality.
• Support interconnection, construction, and project delivery.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and authorities; manage schedules and budgets.
• Conduct energy production analyses using PVSyst, Helioscope, and Excel.
