Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer for Data Centers to work remotely across the U.S. with initial postings to Arlington-based standards. The role focuses on medium- and low-voltage power distribution, emergency power, and reliability for mission critical facilities.

With 2+ years of experience, you will develop plans, perform calculations, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams while mentored by senior engineers. This is a full-time, remote-friendly opportunity with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with 2 years of building MEP electrical design experience.
• Experience with Revit and ACC preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical power systems and engineering calculations; SKM/ETAP a plus.
• Working knowledge of NEC and familiarity with IBC/IECC.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team under guidance of senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design of electrical systems for mission critical and data center facilities including power distribution, emergency power, lighting, grounding and life safety.
• Perform electrical calculations and assist with load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Develop electrical plans, one-line diagrams, schedules and specifications under guidance of seniors.
• Apply NEC and codes to design and documentation.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, civil disciplines.
• Support senior engineers in resolving technical and construction issues.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients and contractors.
• Develop knowledge of data center electrical systems including reliability and redundancy.
• Continue developing technical and professional skills through project experience, mentoring and training.
