Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced electrical engineer for a remote role within the U.S. The candidate will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team under a licensed engineer, engaging in design for healthcare, education, and commercial sectors.

Responsibilities include leading design efforts, preparing construction documents, and ensuring quality across projects. Requires ABET-credited degree, 6+ years’ experience, and proficiency with engineering software; EIT/FE and LEED preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering; ABET accreditation preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
• EIT/FE preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Independent thinker with analytical mindset and ability to contribute to process development.

Responsibilities

• Participate in project teamwork planning sessions; may lead.
• May assume project engineering responsibilities and manage goals.
• Initiate project designs and develop design goals and systems; perform electrical engineering for building construction.
• Design lighting, power distribution, signaling, and telecom systems for healthcare, education, and commercial clients.
• Prepare construction documents; guide team members; specify electrical equipment.
• Conduct quality checks of engineering documents and layouts.
• Participate in value engineering with Architectural/Engineering team.
• Recommend improvements referencing standards to improve quality and streamline production.
• Review and markup shop drawings; respond to RFIs and change orders.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe progress; attend meetings.
• May perform other related tasks as needed.
