Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team remotely within the U.S. You will support design and project engineering for building construction across healthcare, education, and commercial sectors, under a senior engineer.

You will leverage Revit, AGI32, and SKM tools to deliver robust electrical systems, while guiding teammates and ensuring code compliance. The role requires a PE license, 6+ years of experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of related experience in electrical engineering for building construction.
• Current PE license in the United States is required.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Independent thinker with analytical mindset and process development contributions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; proficient in engineering design software.

Responsibilities

• Participate in project teamwork planning sessions and may take a lead role.
• May assume project engineering responsibilities and adhere to financial and work goals.
• Initiate project designs and help to develop design goals and systems; perform electrical engineering design for buildings.
• Design lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications and telecom systems for healthcare, education, and commercial clients per codes.
• Prepare construction documents including drawings and specs; guide junior team members; specify electrical equipment.
• Complete quality control checks of engineering documents and layouts; review shop drawings and submittals.
• Participate in value engineering sessions with the Architectural/Engineering team; review RFIs and change orders.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress; attend construction meetings.
