Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer focusing on power distribution to design, analyze, and validate low and medium voltage equipment. The role emphasizes collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to deliver reliable products that meet safety and industry standards.

The ideal candidate will contribute to documentation, testing, and product development. You will work on switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, load banks, generators, and energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 1–2+ years in electrical design or power distribution equipment design.
• Experience with LV/MV AC systems and electrical ratings.
• Ability to develop schematics and documentation for manufacturing and testing.
• Familiar with NEC, UL, and related standards; NFPA70E preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or EPLAN.
• Experience with switchgear, switchboards, or related products is a plus.
• Experience with data management systems (ERP/PLM) preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and support low and medium voltage power distribution products from concept to manufacturing.
• Research, evaluate, and select electrical components based on requirements and ratings.
• Develop electrical designs, schematics, and documentation for certification and customer needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable power distribution solutions.
• Support product validation, prototype testing, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, load banks, generators, and energy storage systems.
