Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer – Power Distribution to design and develop LV and MV distribution equipment, such as switchgear and switchboards. The role emphasizes component selection, system ratings, and cross-functional collaboration from concept through manufacturing.

The candidate should have a BS in Electrical Engineering with 1–2+ years in electrical or power distribution design, and familiarity with NEC/UL standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• 1–2+ years in electrical engineering or power distribution design.
• Experience with low/medium voltage AC systems preferred.
• Familiarity with NEC/UL or similar standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and documentation.
• Experience with electrical component selection and testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and support LV and MV power distribution products from concept through manufacturing.
• Research and select components based on requirements and ratings.
• Develop electrical designs, schematics, and technical documentation for manufacturing and testing.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and QA for reliability and cost efficiency.
• Support product validation, prototype testing, and field deployment.
• Contribute to switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, and energy storage systems.
