Job summary

Apex Clean Energy is seeking an EHS Advisor to lead safety across its wind, solar, and storage assets. You will develop and enforce safety programs, conduct audits, and guide contractors to ensure OSHA compliance and a strong safety culture.

The role requires 5+ years in safety, renewable energy experience, and certifications like OHST/CHST or OSHA 30/510. It offers remote work with up to 50% travel to project sites and a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety/engineering or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years safety experience, with 2+ years in renewable energy.
• OHST/CHST or plan to obtain; OSHA 30/510 certification or plan to obtain.
• OSHA regulations knowledge and NFPA 70E familiarity.
• Experience with fall protection systems and rescue planning.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote sites.
• First Aid/CPR certification (can be obtained).
• Tower Rescue certification (can be obtained).
• Wind turbine safety systems knowledge; battery storage safety protocols.
• Solar installation safety experience; incident investigation experience.
• Willing to travel 50%.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety meetings and site safety discussions.
• Conduct safety audits across wind, solar, and battery sites for OSHA compliance and records.
• Provide oversight for contractor safety programs and prequalification processes.
• Perform job hazard analyses for high-risk activities such as heights and electrical work.
• Advise Facility Managers on interpreting relevant safety regulations.
• Support environmental reporting and sustainability initiatives.
• Develop and maintain site safety programs and safe work practices.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses with corrective actions.
• Review monthly safety metrics with Asset Management for trends.
• Travel to project sites; support directors as needed.
