Job summary

Carex Consulting Group is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our healthtech team. You will work directly with behavioral health providers, translate complex workflows into buildable requirements, and ship production software rapidly in a field-facing role.

This remote-in-New-York City position involves 10–15 hours weekly of customer interactions and 25–50% travel, with flexibility for remote candidates due to travel.

Qualifications

Strong software engineering skills and ability to ship production-quality software.
Significant healthcare and EHR domain expertise.
Experience with EHR platforms and healthcare data ecosystems; Epic experience is valuable.
Ability to work directly with customers while remaining hands-on.

Responsibilities

Own complex data migrations from legacy EHRs and billing platforms.
Work directly with behavioral health providers to understand workflows and pain points.
Interact with customers 10–15 hours per week to gather feedback.
Translate customer problems into clearly scoped technical solutions.
Ship production software that solves real customer problems.
Collaborate with Product Engineering on complex product initiatives.
Navigate healthcare data, legacy systems, and integrations.
Travel 25–50% to engage with customers and environments.
